Planet Ice Gillingham is hosting a trial Stick & Puck session later this month, giving adult beginners the chance to step onto the ice and experience ice hockey for the first time in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
The session takes place on Saturday 20 June from 16:30 to 17:30, and is open to beginner adults only. Pucks and goals will be provided on the day - participants just need to bring their own helmet, stick, and gloves.
Stick & Puck sessions are open ice time specifically set aside for players to work at their own pace, practising shooting, puck handling, and skating with the game's equipment. There's no coaching structure or drills - just time on the ice to find your feet and get comfortable with a stick in hand.
Planet Ice Gillingham is home to the Invicta Dynamos, Medway's national league ice hockey team, and has been a hub for the sport in the South East for years. Whether you've always been curious about playing or you've been watching the Dynamos and fancied giving it a go yourself, this is a straightforward way to find out what it feels like.
Places are limited and the session is by email reservation only. To register your interest, contact the rink at [email protected].
