Why Ice Hockey?
Honestly, I've never considered myself a "sporty" person. I've been to basketball, football, rugby, and even tennis games, but I never found myself truly drawn to any of them. That all changed when I attended my first live ice hockey game. From the moment the puck dropped, I was hooked.
There's something so elegant and graceful about ice hockey players skating effortlessly across the pitch at such high speeds. Skating briskly in any of the aforementioned activities takes more work than stopping on a dime, and tracking a tiny fast hockey puck takes unparalleled skill. Maybe that is why ice hockey was the first sport to draw my interest from the get-go.
A Personal Connection
My newfound love for ice hockey didn't just come from watching the game. It's also deeply tied to my family. Our son, Daniel, has taken up ice skating with dreams of one day playing ice hockey. Watching him work hard to master the basics of skating and seeing his excitement for the sport has brought ice hockey even closer to my heart. It's a shared passion we're exploring together, part of what inspired me to create this community.
